Subjects Taught
Architecural Design, Technical Drafting and Design

A graduate of A.P. Brewer High School, I am now teaching Drafting and Architectural Design in the same classroom where I learned the skills that launched my career. After high school, I attended Wallace State where I took technical and academic classes, then I transferred to Athens State College for my Career/Technical education classes.  I plan to return to Athens State soon to further my education. I love being a student almost as much as I love teaching students!

Looking for a good elective to get me out of P.E., I started in Drafting when I was a student at Brewer High School.  I knew little about the class when I began, but I was hooked immediately and stayed with it until my graduation. I went on to start my career at a little contract engineering firm that offered drafting services to industries in North Alabama. Unfortunately, that firm closed about a year later. Luckily, I quickly found work at a wonderful company in Arab. During my years there I held many positions, most of them in or related to drafting. When our division shut down, I returned to school to prepare for my teaching career. I was hired to teach Drafting for Brewer High School less than a year later, and I have been in that position since. I love my job. I love drafting, and I love teaching it to my students. Hopefully, I will have a home here at Brewer for a long, long time.

Born a few miles away from Brewer High School in Arab, Alabama, I moved to Ryan when I was five and lived there - first with my parents, then in my own home - until October 1999 when I moved back to a quiet little neighborhood in Arab. My roots are still in Morgan County along with a large portion of my family. Brewer High School is the only teaching home I've known, and I can't imagine finding myself anywhere else. I enjoy my career, my students and the staff I've come to think of as a second family. As our song says, WE LOVE YOU BHS!
